Councillor Vacancy

Updated: 09.01.19
We are pleased to announce that Janet Parker was co-opted to the casual vacancy.

Could you be a Town Councillor?

Following the resignation of Cllr Hawker and no request from the town to hold an election, Westbury Town Council has a casual vacancy for a co-opted councillor in Westbury West Ward. The council has enough councillors to legally perform its duties but would like to fill its vacancy. The role of a councillor is unpaid and there are many meetings and activities with which you can choose to be involved, but it is a rewarding role and you can really make a difference to Westbury and its community. The only skills you require is a love of the town, its location and a willingness to represent the people of Westbury.

This is an exciting and busy time for Westbury Town Council, we have been developing our four-year business plan and Neighbourhood Plan, working hard to represent the town through consultation & public meetings, increasing responsibility for services in the town and shifting our outlook and approach to meet the changing needs of our diverse community.

If this is an opportunity that excites you, please see our co-option policy and application form. If you would like to discuss this role in more detail, please contact Deborah Urch, Town Clerk on 01373 822232 for an informal chat or to arrange a meeting.

The closing date for applications is Friday 21st December 2018
